Other sites like the county courthouses, clerk’s offices, and public libraries will take your application as well. The operating hours of these places are not the same as the post office. For that and other reasons, the post offices accept more applications.
Colorado Postal Services
Colorado Postal Services offer two choices to process a passport application. The first is normal processing, also known as routine. When you select this option, you must submit your application,
supporting documents, and
fee. You must now wait 4 to 8 weeks, after submission, to get your new passport in the mail. The cost of normal processing is the cheapest when compared to the other option.
Expedited processing for your passport application is the next option offer by Colorado Postal Services. This choice is for applicants who have a trip sooner than four weeks and need a new passport. The only addition paper that is necessary for the required documents to shows
proof of travel is your itinerary. Since the processing time decreases, the cost increases. Ask the agent at any Colorado Postal Services about it.
Private Expeditors and Regional Passport Agents
There are services available that will help you get a passport in less than two weeks. If you have a business trip, a medical or family emergency, and need a passport quickly, a private expeditor or a
regional passport agency can help you get one. Apart from the standard documents, you must submit, additional documentation are necessary for this service. These other documents include two letters of authorization and a letter from your job if it is a business trip you are taking.
A private expeditor service is a bit different from a regional agency. For example, a private expeditor does not require an appointment while an agency does. You do not need to travel to a private expeditor’s office. On the other hand, you must submit your documents in person at an office. To do so, call the
National Passport Information Center for an appointment.
Colorado Passport Agency will assist you with the process. Regardless of the differences in the service, both will still get you a new passport.
