Arizona Passport Office Finder: Getting a Passport From The Arizona Passport Offices

Arizona is part of two territories, the southwestern region of the United States and the Western United States. It is bordered by New Mexico, Utah, California, and Mexico and is known as one of the four “corners” states. Arizona is the 15th most populous state in the U.S. and regarding population is 6th.

If you need to obtain a passport in Arizona, you can do so at one of the 85 passport offices in Arizona. Many are located in Post Offices, some in the county and municipal offices, county clerks and libraries. There is no regional passport office in Arizona.

Arizona Post Offices

Do you know the different processing options the post office offers? There are two choices at the post office to get your application process. The first is the standard way most people choose when they submit their documents. With this option, the application process takes 4 to 8 weeks, if all the documents and fees are provided, to get a new passport.

The second choice at the post office is expedited processing. The expedited process decreases the processing time to 2 to 3 weeks. To qualify for it, you must provide proof of travel and submit all the documents and fees. Overall, you will pay more for this choice.

Private Expeditor

A private expeditor will aid you to get a passport in a day, or two if you need one. You can submit your application and support documents via mail and may not necessarily need to go into the office. The additional documents you must provide are proof of travel, two letters of authorization, and a letter from your job, if you are going on a business trip. Of course, you must also pay the expeditor’s fee which is separate from the application and execution fees.

Regional Passport Agency

A regional passport agency will provide the same service as a private expeditor. However, you must apply personally at the office. But before you go, you must first get an appointment by calling the National Passport Information Center. Another setback with using an agency is not all State has one. Sometimes, you may need to travel across the state line to find an agency.  You may pay the same cost of getting a passport from a regional agency as you would from a private expeditor.

Now you have all the information you will need to get a passport. If you are not in a rush, go to your neighborhood post office to submit your application. If your trip is within a few weeks, then use expedited processing. But if you need a passport in a day or two, contact a private expeditor to visit a regional agency in your state. Keep in mind the cost will vary due to how soon you must travel.
